Dress Me: What do I wear to get sworn in?

Morning!

If you follow me on twitter then you might have seen this tweet last week:

Maybe it was fear or bad timing but I put off getting admitted to the Bar for 3 years - finally its happening ... 20 more days!!!

Yep, I am FINALLY getting sworn in. I don't consider myself a procrastinator but I have dragged my feet to finally get sworn in. The reason(s) why I really don't know - maybe because I am not actively practicing or maybe because I wasn't in the space to truly believe that I actually achieved one of my lifelong goals.

I've already alerted my office that I want new business cards to reflect the change - a bit pretentious to some but I worked HAAAAAARD including a full time job, class at night AND an internship and work on journal article - I earned those three letters ESQ. after my name.

Anyhoo, the day is finally coming and I havn't figured out what to wear. I am doing my best to shop my own closet, but I feel that an occasion like this deserves something new. The official appropriate choices are a pants suit, dress or skirt, blouse and jacket and my friends have told me that the usual colors are black and grey.
Monroe Jacket & Pants, Igigi

As much as I want to do a wild color combo, I know that I need to give the judges the respect they deserve and wear the appropriate attire. I'm inclined to lean towards a dress I'm not sure I could find one conservative enough for my chest area. I have to be formal but I would like to try to infuse some sort of color.

I'm sure I'll come up with something but  I would love to know your thoughts. Would you follow the rules or bend the rules?

Congrats on being sworn in. I'm sure that you will look fabulous no matter what you chose to wear. The smile on your face when you are sworn in will make any outfit complete.
