Morning!!
Thrifting is something that in my mind I love to do, but in all practicality I don't do often.
Why?
Because I can never seem to find all the cool things that other peple tend to find - believe me I've tried. I usually find tons of pieces in size 14 and 16, but finding good pieces in size a 18 and up and felt to me like I was trying to find a needle in a haystack. Like one friend stated "all I find is scarves and handbags". I know my girl Patrice over at Looking Fly on a Dime is a thrifting guru is able to build her entire wardrobe with thrifted items, I just wanted to see if I could find a few pieces and build from there.
So I tried three different places and got three different results, let's proceed:
Attempt #1: The Salvation Army in Northeast, CT
...as you can see only scarves and handbags. Thrift Store -1 Me - 0
Attempt #2: The Salvation Army in Astoria, NY
I was looking for a denim or chambray shirt and not only did I find 1, I found 2! The two shirts came out to $5.83 because most items are 1/2 off on Wednesdays. Thrift Store-1 Me-1
Attempt #3: The Goodwill in Astoria, NY
I was totally surprised and had a major score at the Goodwill. I founds loads of pieces over a size 14 and found many brand new pieces from Target and Torrid. This is a place that I will definitely visit again and may have reinvigorated my strength in thrifting. 3 pairs of shoes, 2 dresses and 1, clutch and 1 tank later, I left the store a happy lady.
This may be the start of a beautiful & financially beneficial relationship....
What do you think of my finds? Do you thrift? If so, how do you come out?

I'm impressed! I try to thrift but I don't find too many size 22/24. I'm starting to think that when we find something we wear it until it's not wearable any longer! :)
Great, any luck with upper Manhattan or the Bronx?
I am a thrifting junkie!! Love those bags you get girl!!
@Dalls, I used to think that too.. to be honest I'm still skeptical but that's why I keep trying :)
@MissB I don't know about the Bronx, but try the Salvation army on 46th and 10th.
