"The focus of the Caribbean Fashion Plus +Week 2012 (CFPW 2012) is to create a fashion-forward environment for the Caribbean within which the needs of the plus-size (ladies) and big-and-tall (gents) communities of the world can be served." - Caribbean Fashion Plus Week
So the rumblings during Trinidad Carnival WERE true... there would be a Caribbean Fashion Plus Week this year!!!
The majority of Caribbean women are not a size '0' yet the access to stylish options for plus size women in these areas have always been extremely limited. In recent years, the demand for options and awareness has grown - and now the 1st Caribbean Fashion Plus Week will be held in Trinidad on October 31- November 4, 2012.
The goal of the 2012 Caribbean Fashion Plus Week is to encourage vibrant networking between the creative producers, the buyers of plus apparel and the media, and to support the on-going process of building a more prominent plus size fashion industry in the Caribbean with greater local, regional and international access to comfort, style and quality fashion industry products.
Designers of all countries are invited to bring their creative and innovative designs to the Caribbean by showcasing on ‘Runway Caribbean’ – the final fashion event. The Caribbean plus size consumer market is vast and under explored and can be a lucrative business opportunity for the designer with foresight, initiative and drive.
The entire plus size fashion week runs from October 31st to the grand finale "Runway Caribbean” on November 4th 2012 at the Cascadia Hotel, St. Ann’s, Trinidad. If you are a clothing designer you are invited to take on the Caribbean challenge of designing a full plus size line for CFPW 2012! To express your interest, email the CFPW at caripsfw@gmail.com with the subject “Fashion Designer”. The deadline for sending in your information is 31st August 2012, 4:00 p.m.

Caribbean women have very curvy, sexy bodies and totally deserve their own fashion show!
Embracing curvy fashion is a wonderful idea, and the Caribbean is the perfect place to do that.
