OOTD: Dress Code Remixing

Morning!

  School's back in session!

I'm super excited this year because I've taken on the new of role of Assistant Dean and I'll also be teaching 2 classes of U.S History. What this also means is that I will be alot more visible to students on campus - which means that I need to step up my wardrobe game and actually heed to the dress code which at times I admittedly don't follow completely. I especially want to show the female students that you can look good within the dress code, every skirt does not have to be mid-thigh in order to be "cute" and your shirt doesn't have to dip waaaay low.

out of dress code.. it needs something.
My outfit for my 1st full day of classes was a remix of sorts - I wore one my staples; my Monif C convertible dress as a high-waisted skirt, I then put it with my Kmart LYS reversible cross-back tank. The tank on it's own is not within the dress code but when I tuck it into the skirt and top it with a simple black cardigan it looks more like a layering blouse. I didn't do much accessorizing because it was "picture day", but I couldn't resist wearing my patterned silver hoops.

there we go - dress code acceptable

aww, they're so cute!

What do you think? Classroom worthy?

Very cute! :) Love that you are showing them not only classy and cute ways to wear your favorites - but also rocking the curves and proving big is definitely sexy!

I don't stop by often enough, but I love your blog and the attitude it has! I need to embrace myself more!

I want one of those convertible dresses but I am afraid I won't know how to wrap it right

You look fabulous girl!! I'm gonna have to try out my convertible Tart dress as a high waist skirt. :-)

I think with the cardigan you look super stylish for back-to-school. As a former teacher I think you are going to be really busy. Good luck!

It is totally class appropriate. I do think you are missing a little something like a big black chunky necklace.

I totally agree with this:

" every skirt does not have to be mid-thigh in order to be "cute" and your shirt doesn't have to dip waaaay low."

Creativity is essential for fashionistas!
