Good Morning!
How do I begin to explain what just occurred this weekend?
Inspiring.
Empowering.
Long Overdue.

Full Figured Fashion Week , wasn't just a fashion show, a panel, or a shopping event, it was so much more than that. It's not often that you are able to see a convergence of full figured women making things happen for themselves with no apologies for it. For those that came just to inquire, just to see what it was all about - many of them told me that they didn't think they would leave feeling so good about something that had previously made them feel bad- they never saw their size as beautiful and now they are questioning why they felt that way in the first place.
I was humbled to meet alot of Luvin' My Curves readers - it trips me out everytime when someone recognizes me. :)
Friday's "State of the Curvy Community" panel discussion had a great lineup, and an engaged crowd. Lots of great words were spoken, insightful questions asked. What I loved most about the panel was that each panelist came from a different aspect of the plus size community so we heard from 9 different aspects. Retailers and designers listen up stop ignoring and start listening, you'll only lose out to those that make moves. The comedy show and afterparty were lots of fun, met alot of great folks and jammed out to M.J!
If you were at the panel, I would love to know what you thought!!
our great panel... thank you so much!
Saturday's "Curves in the City Shopping Soiree"; how can you resist a room FULL of companies that cater to your curves? I tried... didn't necessarily work though. Kim Coles who hosted the finale, came to "Curves In the City" which was a shock to me. She is the global spokesperson of Purses & Pockets with a Purpose an organization, which helps women and children in domestic abuse shelters. When I asked Ms. Coles if she would do me the honor of helping me announce the raffle winners she instantly obliged Yes, I spoke to Synclare! I wanted to "woo woo woo" but she beat me to it ;)
The Finale... the designers KILLED IT!! However you describe your style - it was represented on the runway in YOUR size! Forgive me in advance when the video comes out and you hear my "ooohs and aaaahs". I won't pick a favorite because it would be too hard- I saw something from each designer that I NEEDED (yes, needed) in my wardrobe. (My official recap of the Finale is coming!)
Ms. Gwen DeVoe, executive producer of Full Figured Fashion Week addresses the crowd
When I get all the pics together and the video cleared rest assured I'll get it out for your viewing pleasure. ;)
~Luvin' My Curves... Ready for next year!

I just found out about FFFW a few days before it happened, and while I was sad it was too short for me to attend. It has placed my life on a path that I was searching for but wasn't sure I would find! I plan to be there next year with the cutest bells I can find! Thank you so much for your coverage!
As one of those that spoke on the panel as well as being a member of the Curvy Collective let me tell you it was fantastic witnessing everything. I agree that others need to listen to what we have to say in order to better understand what the curvy woman NEEDS.
It was great meeting you I can't wait to meet up with you and the others again to make more history!
I wish I was able to make it. I love the new things that are happening in the plus size industry! One atep at a time. I'm soooo jealous your were there lol
