It finally feels like summer here in NYC..

So.. since it's starting to FINALLY feel like summer here in NYC it's time to break out the dresses. I usually only do jeans & flip flops in the summer, but for the first time in a long time I want to show it off. (in a classy way of course!!) During my dress scouring I've seen alot of black & white print, and even though it's cute... how many black/white dresses can you have??? This summer has been infused with bright colors and bold prints, check some of these out.....Lane Bryant Knit Babydoll Dress $39.50. (BTW: This is the most comfy dress, I put it with some cute silver metallic flat sandals and matching bag and off I go.)
Torrid Blue Floral Print Tank Dress $68.00

and last but not least... SizeAppeal's Vivian in Green $52.. I'm working on getting this one next week.

There are also loads of halter dresses in style now, I tend to stay away from them because I have yet to find a strapless bra that can hold me in without killing me in the process. If you know of any.... email me PLEASE!!

I also suggest checking out some lower-end stores that carry plus-size clothing... the quality may not be as good but if you're only looking for a dress to hang out or go to a one-time thing it might be a good look for a better prices and every once in awhile you come out with a steal... check out Rainbow & Dots.

Happy Shopping!!

So many places to check out...

Like I said in my last post, MonifC's opening up her own boutique in the city this week... this girl will definitely be there. I will also utilize this week (yes, it's a pay week) to check out Lee Lee Valise in Brooklyn. It's a plus-size only boutique and it's about time that us curvy girls get more than a clothing rack, if that in a trendy boutique.
I plan on checking out Lee Lee Valise and promise to get back to you with a review. I don't think I'll be disappointed as they carry one of my new favorite lines, Trentacosta.
Basically, I'm spending my paycheck in my head as I've been doing some serious, serious internet window shopping... check out MissPlusClothing & SizeAppeal. These two places have been the heavy front runners for my internet shoppping all week.. check them out.

What's at the top of my list you may ask?Floral Dot Buckle Top, $28.98 from MissPlusClothing.com
Navy Kimono Dress, $30.98 from MissPlusClothing.com

YAY!! MONIFC

Monif C... one of my Favorite designers is having the Grand Opening of her boutique next week. If you don't know about Monif C by now.. you better ask somebody. Her designs are hot!!!! I've been up on her for awhile but it seems like she is FINALLY getting the exposure she deserves. Her Convertible Dress is AMAZING.. I have it in black but have devious plans to get it in white, teal, yellow and custom grey and purple. (Yes, I'm a bit obsessed... )

For those who are interested, check out monifc.com for more information.

Wouldn't this dress be darling for a summer wedding?

In other news.. OLD NAVY GETS THE THUMBS DOWN

Old Navy has the nerve to join all the other deaf, dumb & blind retailers that have decided that us plus size ladies can't have the option to try on clothes like everyone else. The store has decided that starting soon (like a couple of weeks) that their Plus Size Line will ONLY be available online. WTF?? I havn't found out the reason, but it can't be sales.... I guess the up-side is that the plus-size clothing in stores is on sale, like 40% off.
